A check up week...
Yesterday I had my usual once a month check up and all things are staying stable. I have a sinus infection, boo, which I am on antibiotics for but other than that no real news. Just more waiting. And more waiting...I suppose no news is good news.
I did stop and get my nails done on the way there, which is a nice little treat that I try to do every time I go for a check up (as well as a nice dinner out on the way back, is usually the ritual.)

Glittery Polish
I've been really experimenting with glittery nail polish lately, where I actually buy it and paint it myself. I was recenetly introductedt to Deborah Lippman nail polish and seriously BALKED at the 18 dollar price tag. Really? But one day somehow, well I know how, I was suckered into buying two colors. One is a really light bluish with subdued pink and blue circular glitter. I had to have it. I finally tried it out over the weekend and I fell in love. Not only did it come out so lovely, but it went on so smoothly and hasn't even come close to chipping. It just painted on so easily, I now totally fully support the high price tag!

Calgel
I finally got to try the calgel glitter gel polish with Lindsey when we went to NYC and I loveeee it. It's so glittery! I think I am going to attempt to do this home, and there will be a post about it of course. But it is so thick and solid glitter it's great! It's not for everyone but if you like sparkly it's for you!

OPI Nail Gel Update
For all of you asking how long the nail gel lasted, well it held up to its promise. It lasted about 2.5 weeks, and it would have lasted longer honestly if I didn't do this weird anxiety thing with my nails where I constantly am playing with them. It never chipped at all! It was kind of amazing. I did something stupid and I peeled them all off on my own, instead of going to the salon and having it soaked off like you are supposed to. That wasn't so great for my nails. But I would totally do it again especially for a special occasion, even if I only kept it on for a week, it doesn't chip! That is the most important part!

Soak it Off
Today finally I got the new OPI soak off nail gel done. I've been wanting to do it for weeks! In theory this is the most perfect product for me because I have really nice nails on my own and I do not want fake nails ever, but when I just get a regular manicure it starts to chip in days, but my friends with fake nails keep their nails in great condition for weeks and I envy that! Finally, this product is basically like fake nails without the fake nails. The process involved a lot of layers of gel, and a lot of UV lighting, but if it lasts the 2-3 weeks without chipping I will be a happy camper. I am going to keep you all posted on how long it lasts for. And it came in a lot more colors than I thought it would. I got a nice bright pink. But you can also get just a regular french manicure which would be really nice too if it lasts 3 weeks!
We'll see....

Sula
I came across this line of perfume, body wash, and nail polish a few weeks ago and got really excited because it was all natural and organic. I decided on a whim to order a few things from this company online - not getting to touch and test things is hard for me, but I did it anyway! And I really love their website (Sula)
I thought there stuff was so pretty! I ordered some nail polish and some body wash.
The great thing about the nail polish is it peels off when you want to take it off, so you don't have to use any nail polish remover to take it off!!!
I painted these myself, so they aren't great, but the color was surpisingly bright for being water based.
